Nick Woodman’s net worth has fluctuated quite widely recently with the ups and downs of GoPro stock. For example in September of 2014 his net worth was estimated at $3.3 billion but by January of 2016 Nicholas had fallen out of billionaire status with an estimated net worth of just $995 million.
So to answer the question how much is Nick Woodman worth, one has to consider whether the GoPro stock is up or down. But as of today, Nicolas is back in Billionaire status according to Forbes.
The drop in GoPro’s stock and Woodman’s wealth began in August of 2016.
But Nick became a billionaire by innovating so don’t expect the GoPro founder to sit idly by and watch his company continue to lose value. Woodman recently announced the decision for GoPro to enter into the fast paced drone industry with a new quadcopter that should be available in the first half of 2016.

Why is Nick Woodman known as the “Mad Billionaire?”
The answer to this most likely lies in the title of another Forbes article on Nick published on March 4, 2013 titled “The Mad Billionaire Behind GoPro: The World’s Hottest Camera Company.”
In that article Forbes writer Ryan Mac re-counts a trip with Woodman and a dozen of his friends aboard a private Gulfstream jet to the most exclusive ski resort in the nation, Montana’s Yellowstone Club. The writer describes Woodman as being 37, looking 27 and acting 17 as he downs Redbulls and occasionally lets out a “YEEEEOW” as he moves about the plane talking to his fellow travelers.
Others describe Nick Woodman as a thrill seeker, passionate, focused, unconventional and eccentric. Those familiar with the GoPro story know that Nick is an avid surfer and came up with the idea for the product while on a worldwide surfing odyssey after college. More specifically Nick was frustrated that he could not get good pictures of he and his friends out on the water surfing. He was envious of professional surfers who had the resources and camera people to catch them in action. Nick’s saying at the time was that in order to get good photos of yourself surfing you had to “Go Pro.”
The Nick Woodman Yacht
Nick has taken a little bit of heat recently in the media after commissioning a 180’ yacht which is estimated to potentially costs as much as $40 million, in December of 2015; even while his company was in a downturn. Shortly after the yacht purchase GoPro had to cut back on it’s workforce by about 7%.
The mega-yacht is currently being built by Amels, a Dutch yacht-builder with expected delivery in 2017. Amels is considered on of the top three yacht builders in the world.
